We cling to a tradition from the East, even if most of us do not believe in large parts of its mythology anymore. And those who show the least believe in it are the ones who most eagerly try to defend this tradition against a newer mythology, which as well comes from the East.

We seem to be able to hold onto mythology without believe, but wouldn't we be better off if we believed without mythology?
